IS Project Manager – Lead Technology and Process Transformation

Location:
Hybrid (this role requires national travel so being based in the midlands is preferable)

Daily rate:
£450 Outside IR35

Contract:
Interim - 6 months

Our client is seeking an experienced
IS Project Manager
to join their central Information Systems (IS) team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading UK-based organisation in the
manufacturing and sustainability sector
and play a key role in shaping how technology supports business operations across multiple sites in the UK.

The interim PM will work across an existing portfolio of projects, including infrastructure and software deployments, whilst also leading support for the integration of IT from a range of newly acquired businesses.

The Role

As IS Project Manager, you'll act as the vital link between the IS function and the wider business. You'll scope, plan, and deliver a portfolio of technology and process improvement projects -ensuring each is completed on time, within budget, and to scope.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the delivery of complex infrastructure, systems, and digital initiatives.
  • Partnering with business units to define project requirements and align outcomes with organisational goals.
  • Lead on IT integration of newly acquired businesses
  • Managing multiple projects concurrently in a matrix environment.
  • Collaborating with external vendors and partners to deliver successful solutions.
  • Providing project leadership, progress reporting, and stakeholder engagement at all levels.

About You

The ideal candidate will be a confident, hands-on project manager with a background in manufacturing and IT. You'll bring the structure, communication, and leadership skills to navigate complex change programmes while maintaining a focus on delivery and results.

You should have:

  • Proven project management experience (PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent).
  • Experience working within the manufacturing industry
  • Demonstrable experience leading IT projects (including infrastructure and software deployments)
  • Strong stakeholder and budget management skills.
  • Process improvement knowledge (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Flexibility to travel to UK sites as required.
  • A full UK driving licence.
