International Sales Manager
for
Customer Acquisition
based in Cheadle, Manchester, to join our dynamic
International Team,
already present in the
US, Europe and beyond
Reporting directly to the Global Sales Director based in the Netherlands, the ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive
global strategy
to attract, acquire, and retain
new customers
across key
international markets
for our portfolio of toys and games. This role requires a driven, creative, and results-oriented professional. The successful candidate will drive
revenue growth
by
expanding our customer base
beyond our current international distributor network.
Your
functions
will be the following:
Strategy and Market Expansion:
Develop and execute a comprehensive international acquisition strategy to enter new markets and grow existing ones with new brands and IP. Identify, analyse, and prioritise new markets for expansion based on business potential and competitive landscape. Conduct thorough market research to understand local consumer behaviours and sales trends in the toy and games sector.Partnership and Relationship Management:
Identify, approach, and negotiate with potential international partners, including distributors, wholesalers, and retail chains. Build and nurture long-term relationships with key partners to ensure sustained growth and market penetration.Sales and Business Development:
Drive new customer acquisition through direct sales efforts and by supporting partners in their sales initiatives. Develop and manage sales pipelines, negotiate contracts, and close deals that align with company goals.Trade Show and Event Management:
Represent the company at international trade shows, industry events, and conferences to network, generate leads, and showcase new products.Commercial Analysis:
Monitor sales performance and market trends to identify opportunities and challenges. Provide regular reporting and insights on commercial performance to senior leadership, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.Agents:
Work closely with our agents to take advantage of their local knowledge and presence. Agree KPIs and actions with the agents and follow through on these to achieve agreed targets.Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with the Brand, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure a seamless process for international sales, from order fulfilment to financial reconciliation. Provide market intelligence to the product development team to help inform future product lines and regional-specific offerings.
The
knowledge
you should bring to Jumbo Group to take our services to the next level is:
- Minimum of
5 years
of experience in a business development, sales, or account management role, with a strong focus on international markets. - Proven track record of successfully identifying, negotiating, and closing deals with international partners.
- Experience in the consumer goods or retail sector is essential; specific experience in the toy, games, or children's products industry is highly desirable.
- Willingness to travel internationally
for fairs or customers visits. - Exceptional negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with international partners.
- Pitching skills; we sell by telling stories.
- Strategic and creative thinker with a strong problem-solving mindset.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects and relationships simultaneously.
Desirable Skills:
- Fluency in a second language (e.g., Spanish, French, German, Mandarin) is a strong asset.
- Extensive network of contacts within the global toy and games industry.
- Knowledge of international trade regulations, customs, and logistics.
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
