The Role
As the Baby Room Leader, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the baby room, ensuring every child receives the highest standard of care, safety, and early education. You'll use your expertise in early years development to create a warm, stimulating, and supportive environment — where babies can explore, learn, and feel secure.
You'll also mentor and guide your room team, fostering a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children, ensuring high standards of safety and care.
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate age-appropriate activities that meet each child's individual needs and interests.
- Support, coach, and supervise room staff to ensure consistent, high-quality practice.
- Maintain up-to-date records, including learning journeys, sleep charts, accident forms, and daily logs.
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and professionals, ensuring open and supportive communication.
- Identify and support children with additional needs in partnership with the SENCO, Nursery Manager and external agencies.
- Participate in regular management meetings, appraisals, and training opportunities.
- Ensure the room environment is clean, safe, and engaging at all times.
- Uphold nursery policies and procedures, ensuring all staff in your team do the same.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Qualified to at least Level 3 in Early Years Education or Childcare (Level 4/5 desirable).
- Experienced in working with babies and leading a small team within a nursery setting.
- Knowledgeable about the EYFS, safeguarding, and child development.
- Caring, patient, and enthusiastic, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Committed to creating a positive, inclusive environment for children, families, and staff.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From £26,035.62 per year
