Location: Torquay, Devon

Hours: Full Time (38 or 45) on a term time basis (38 weeks) or 45 weeks a year

We're a close-knit, family-run nursery where laughter fills the rooms, curiosity is encouraged, and every little moment matters. We're now looking for a Baby Room Leader to join our wonderful team and help our youngest children thrive during their most precious early years.

About the Role

As our Baby Room Leader, you'll take the lead in creating a calm, nurturing, and inspiring space for babies aged 0–2. You'll guide and support your team, plan exciting experiences that support early development, and work closely with families to make sure every child feels safe, loved, and valued.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves babies, understands their unique needs, and enjoys watching them reach new milestones every day.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading a small, caring team in the baby room.
  • Creating a warm, welcoming environment where babies can play, learn, and feel secure.
  • Planning engaging, sensory activities in line with the EYFS.
  • Building trusting relationships with parents and carers, keeping them closely involved in their child's journey.
  • Observing and supporting each child's development with care and attention.
  • Ensuring the room runs smoothly and meets all health, safety, and safeguarding requirements.

What We're Looking For

  • A Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare.
  • Experience working with children under 2 years old.
  • A kind, patient, and positive nature.
  • Confidence to lead and inspire a small team.
  • A good understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding, and child development.
  • A genuine love for babies and a passion for giving them the best start.
