The Directors of Exceed Learning Partnership and Governors of Willow Primary School are looking to appoint an Inclusion Support Officer to contribute to the academy's further success.

Willow Primary School is part of Exceed Learning Partnership, a Multi Academy Trust that currently comprises of 10 Academies, Bentley High Street Primary School, Carr Lodge Academy, Edlington Victoria Academy, Hall Cross Academy, Hill Top Academy, Rosedale Primary School, Sandringham Primary School, Sheep Dip Lane Academy, The Mallard Academy and Willow Primary School

The Inclusion Support Officer works to provide 'every child, every chance, every day' by supporting pupils and families to overcome barriers to learning with a particular focus on social, emotional and mental health (SEMH). This role will combine direct pupil interventions, family support and strategically working with academy staff and external agencies to improve outcomes for all pupils.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A good knowledge of relevant legislation, codes of practice, and procedures related to SEN and inclusion.
  • An awareness of different learning difficulties, disabilities, and social/emotional/mental health (SEMH) needs common in primary school.
  • The ability to contribute to and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or support plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Conciliatory and Restorative Skills to manage and diffuse challenging behaviour and difficult conversations, promoting positive relationships.
  • The ability to build rapport and establish trusting relationships with vulnerable children and their families.
  • Experience and skill in implementing a range of positive behaviour management strategies.
  • The ability to mentor and support pupils who are struggling with social, emotional, or behavioural difficulties.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload, prioritize tasks, and keep accurate, detailed records (including confidential and safeguarding documentation).
  • Ability to provide practical, one-on-one, or small-group support to help pupils access learning.
