Sector:

Salary:

About the Role

We are supporting a leading multi-site services provider in the appointment of a Group Building & Projects Surveyor. This role will take responsibility for the condition, upkeep, and development of a large national property portfolio, ensuring sites remain safe, compliant, and operationally effective.

The successful candidate will deliver a wide range of building fabric projects — from refurbishments and small developments to alterations and general capital works — while also supporting local teams to manage day-to-day maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver building projects from origination through to completion, including scoping, costing, procurement, and contract management.
  • Maintain up-to-date building condition surveys and create capital investment plans aligned with operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee compliance with building regulations, fire safety, water risk, planning, and landlord obligations.
  • Work closely with helpdesk, planned maintenance, and operations teams to prioritise investment and drive efficiencies.
  • Supervise property managers and minor works teams, ensuring quality standards and value for money are achieved.
  • Support the senior estates leadership team as required, contributing to the wider estates strategy.

About You

  • Qualified building surveyor with experience delivering maintenance, refurbishment, and development projects across a multi-site environment.
  • Background in regulated sectors (e.g. healthcare, education, housing, or similar) would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, statutory requirements, and safe project delivery.
  • Skilled in financial planning, cost control, and data analysis to support investment decisions.
  • Collaborative and pragmatic leader with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Flexibility to travel extensively across the UK; Midlands base preferred.

What's on Offer

This is a high-profile opportunity for a surveyor seeking career progression into senior estates leadership. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping and safeguarding the estate for the future, with strong visibility across the leadership team.
