Literacy Support Assistant | Barking & Dagenham | September Start

Your role as a Literacy Support Assistant will include:

  • Supporting pupils who are struggling to access the mainstream curriculum in Literacy.

  • Delivering tailored support in small group sessions (up to 5 pupils).

  • Creating engaging resources to meet the individual needs of learners.

  • Assisting class teachers across different lessons when required.

  • Encouraging and motivating pupils to achieve academic success.

Essential requirements for the Literacy Support Assistant role:

  • A 1:1 or 2:1 English degree from a top 20 UK University.

  • A genuine passion for education and a desire to go into Teacher Training or Psychology.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage pupils effectively.

  • Proactive, dedicated, and flexible in meeting the needs of the school.

  • Previous child-based experience is desirable.
