We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. Duties

  • Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring that all team members are performing their duties effectively.
  • Oversee food production processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and presentation.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes while maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
  • Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
  • Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen procedures.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items that reflect current trends and customer preferences.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on food preparation and cooking techniques.
  • Previous supervisory or team management experience is essential.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and inspire kitchen staff.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
