Department/Product Overview

The Dow Jones Partners and Licensing team (PAL) fosters and grows relationships with Partners and Licensors around the world, helping to power the Professional Information Business, the B2B division of Dow Jones & Company. This role sits within the Commercial Partnerships vertical within the EMEA PAL team. The Commercial Partnerships team is focused on accelerating our subscriber base and revenue outside the United States via long-term partnerships.

Position Statement

You will manage the end to end conversion, launch, services execution, optimisation and renewal of all EMEA & LATAM partners. As the partners' main point of contact you represent the company and manage the business relationship at a holistic level by managing stakeholder relationships at all levels of the partner company. The management of partners will require strong planning and collaboration skills; the ability to multi-task multiple complex projects across sales development, contract negotiation, technical integration, and marketing simultaneously to achieve results. Your goal is to renew and grow the accounts in order to contribute to Dow Jones company targets.

The role will demand strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish yourself as a key advocate for the Commercial Partnerships team within Dow Jones, building strong relationships internally with the marketing, sales, senior leadership, operations and adjacent business teams in order to fulfill your role. Dow Jones is a highly matrixed organisation and so it is essential that you build a strong network to support your end to end goals. This will require you to be a highly proactive individual with the ability to work independently, manage your own deliverables and escalate to your manager when necessary. You will report to Head of EMEA, Partners & Licensing.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain excellent client relationships. Both Face to face and virtually. You are the main point of contact for all partners and must ensure they see you as their key conduit to Dow Jones services.
  • Maintain on-going client contact to ensure optimum client satisfaction to support renewal of partnership agreements. This will require a minimum of one monthly call for all partners, a quarterly business review and any additional time spent with partners to execute special projects.
  • Work alongside and communicate with other stakeholders (internal and external) to increase engagement and size of account within life cycle of partnership
  • Establish layered relationships at partner/client to gain greater understanding of client's objectives
  • Forecast on existing business and anticipate changes that would affect revenue
  • You will be the account director with an existing and growing global client base. You will be directly responsible for renewing high-value subscriptions with a book of business. In addition, this role is responsible for identifying and capitalizing on new revenue opportunities within existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals
  • Support the sales team in their new business pursuit
  • Management of a support resource
  • Your clients will range from small firms to large membership organizations across, EMEA and Latin America, therefore a curious & respectful attitude to of international business and cultural nuances is essential
  • As an advocate for the team you will be required to build strong internal networks to best support clients. You will need to be highly confident, articulate and driven to succeed in a fast paced environment.
  • International travel will be required

Skills Required

  • 10 years of experience in the management of sales accounts and/or new business generation.
  • Fluent in spoken & written English and one other European language would be an advantage
  • Ability to handle a busy workload in a calm and professional manner being proactive/solution-oriented and absorb and engage with multiple projects in tandem
  • Background in a publishing, media licensing or an online solutions environment preferred, with strong negotiation skills necessary
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills – ability to interact with variety of different personalities, not afraid to challenge for follow up information – Both written and verbal
  • Attention to detail with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks accordingly
  • Ability to be able to build relationships both internally and externally
  • Self-motivated, trustworthy, confident and considerate
  • Knowledge and interest in the financial markets desirable
