We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Maintenance Engineer to support the maintenance of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) within our Solar Storage Systems (SSS) department. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with electrical systems, energy storage technologies, and a solid understanding of maintenance protocols. You will be responsible for all works related to the maintenance and  troubleshooting of the installed systems, ensuring all projects meet performance and safety standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute maintenance procedures for utility-scale BESS systems, including battery management systems (BMS), inverters, switchgear, and SCADA interfaces.

  • Perform OEM derived maintenance of all system components according to OEM, manuals

  • Conduct point-to-point checks, insulation resistance tests, as required.

  • Identify and troubleshoot issues related to electrical, control, and communication systems.

  • Document maintenance results, prepare reports, and maintain logs of issues and resolutions.

  • Coordinate with lead commissioning engineer, project managers, subcontractors.

  • Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety, quality, and environmental standards.

  • Perform administrative functions; such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheets, and expense sheets on a complete timely, and thorough basis

  • Be knowledgeable of and conduct work activities in compliance with, the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies

  • Exercise good judgment in controlling costs and expenditures of Company funds

  • Responsible for troubleshooting, and ensuring projects meet performance and safety standards

  • Protect the Company's capital investments and Intellectual Property by properly safeguarding and maintaining equipment for which responsible

  • Make contributions to the continued development and refinement of SSS Engineering Standards and Procedures (incl. Method Statements, Risk Assessments etc)

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

  • Previous experience of field service experience in utility-scale renewable energy or electrical installation projects.

  • Experience with BESS technologies, PCS (power conversion systems), and SCADA/PLC systems preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to travel frequently and work at remote project sites for extended durations.

  • Develop knowledge of SSS Terms and Conditions and those of customers and subcontractors, and perform activities so as to minimize risk and assure compliance.

  • Technical skills with hands-on experience with electrical systems, energy storage technologies, and a solid understanding of commissioning protocols.

  • HV competencies

  • Experienced with "Simplicity" S/W

  • Ability to build strong customer relationships

  • Solid business and finance acumen and ability to sell GEV value to the customer

  • Computer skills to include Outlook, Excel, and Word

  • Lean principles experience

  • Customer Service orientation, demonstrated track record of execution and results

  • Pro-active approach to problem solving and issue resolution

  • strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work with multiple & competing priorities in a fast paced environment and work effectively across organizations and countries

  • High energy, self-starter, ability to achieve results with minimal supervision

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills  You must have or be able to obtain a passport and driver's license.

  • You must be willing to travel.
