We are looking for a Refuse/Recycling Loader to join our depot in Richmond. You will be covering a significant rural area with picturesque towns and villages.

No previous experience is required, and full training will be given.

The role:

Working in small crews in your dedicated area of the county, you will be collecting residual waste, garden waste or recyclable materials from domestic properties. Health and safety is also critical to ensure your team and residents are safe, including supporting your driver to help them navigate the streets of North Yorkshire safely.

The role is a hugely important one. You will be on the front-line of a key service in the newly formed North Yorkshire Council and therefore one of the faces for the new council. As required, you need to be prepared to start early and weekend working may also be required.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Removing spillages, checking of service lists and reporting instances outside of acceptable presentation.
  • To support the driver in undertaking risk assessments.
  • Assisting the driver, ensuring manoeuvres are completed safely and mitigate the risk to pedestrians and other road users.
  • Responsible for the health and safety of self and colleagues, ensuring that all safe working practices are followed.
  • You will also be trained in cleansing duties to meet operational needs.

Shifts are currently 4 days per week, Tuesday - Friday, and may incorporate weekend work, in-line with service needs. Hours are worked between 06:00 and 18:00.
