CAMHS LAC Clinical Team Lead

The post holder will lead the development and provision of the newly commissioned Haringey LAC CAMHS Team. Coordinating a small team (currently an 8a CAMHS clinician and psychiatrist, but likely to increase as the service develops and matures), the postholder has responsibility for developing, implementing and evaluating the services clinical model appropriate to the context of the embedded CAMHS service. Working with the Service Lead you will support capturing the approach in operational procedures to guide the team. The Clinical Lead will undertake clinical work and supervision, offering a comprehensive mental health service to children the service cares for offering mental health assessment, therapeutic intervention, and consultation.
They will provide highly specialist mental health assessment and therapy as well as undertaking supervision and consultation to non-clinical colleagues and to other non-professional carers; working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of CYPMHS and LB Haringey policies and procedures. The role will include offering clinical supervision, clinical governance, and management oversight to the team. There is requirement to report patient safety and safeguarding incidents, and to contribute to investigation of complaints and clinical incidents. Liaison with professionals across health, social care, education and youth justice services, and any other relevant community partners is essential.
The postholder will be expected to work in highly flexible ways and on an outreach basis in community environments subject to the needs of the young person.
