We are looking to recruit , ideally , an experienced , hard working , resilient , and conscientious individual , to help with the day to day operations of a busy stone importation company .
Duties will include picking and picking orders that will travel the length and breadth of the UK , therefore attention to detail is key - as an incorrect order , potentially weighing several thousand kilo's , sent 700 miles away to the Highlands of Scotland , is an expensive error to rectify , subsequently a competent intellect level is required .
A forklift licence is beneficial , but not crucial , and the ability to juggle several things at the same time is something that you will need to be capable of , you could be picking / packing orders under time pressure , whilst being required to deal with a customer query within our showroom , and answer the phone , sometimes all at the same time , so a calm , level headed persona is advantageous , as it can often be a very busy environment , and therefore an ability to work quickly , and efficiently , under pressure is essential - full training will be given however , and somebody who is a quick learner , and a team player , would certainly be a " tick in the box" as far as we are concerned , as there will a lot to take-in to begin with - as there often is , in any new job .
Heavy lifting is involved on a regular basis , and this is often for the duration of the day whilst packing orders in to pallets / crates or prepping orders to dispatch via courier , there will also be a requirement to load customers and , take orders , so some basic computer skills would be advantageous , as would a sociable personality given the nature of the job and dealing with the public / trade , therefore we are really looking to fill this position with someone who is something of an "allrounder" , and who is as efficient in our yard / warehouse , as they are when in the office , and be comfortable in all areas of the workplace , with a responsibility to ensure that the workplace is kept clean and tidy at all times.
Ideally we would prefer any candidates to be forklift trained , as this is a significant part of the job , although some training can be provided if necessary .
The job is a flat 08.30 am pm Mon - Fri , the successful individual will have a driving licence due to the location of our business address , as there is no links to public transport where we are situated .

Salary: £20, £24,000.00 per year depending on experience - with the potential to increase thereafter , on completion of a successful 3 month trail period , with profit sharing entitlement after 1 year of completed service (excludes 3 month trial) .
