Therapeutic Support Worker – SEMH Children's Home – Hampshire

Salary: From £28,000 per year (including 1 sleep-ins a week)

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people? Yaffle Care is looking for dedicated and compassionate Therapeutic Support Workers to join our friendly and growing team at our SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) children's home in Hampshire.

What you'll do:

  • Provide high-quality, hands-on care and support to children with SEMH needs.
  • Create a safe, positive, and structured home environment.
  • Help children develop life skills, independence, and confidence through educational, social, and leisure activities.
  • Implement individual care plans, therapeutic strategies, and risk assessments.
  • Work closely with social workers, therapists, and other professionals to provide holistic support.
  • Respond calmly and supportively to challenging behaviours using therapeutic approaches.
  • Maintain accurate records while upholding safeguarding standards.
  • Support children in understanding and managing their emotions and trauma.

What we're looking for:

  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people, especially those with SEMH needs.
  • Empathy, patience, and resilience when supporting children with complex behaviours.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience in a residential or SEMH setting.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Children's Residential Care (or willingness to work towards it).
