Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in food production, ensuring consistency and quality across all menu items
- Support kitchen team members in food preparation and plating to ensure timely service
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering to food safety regulations
- Supervise junior staff when required, providing guidance and leadership to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock rotation to minimise waste
- Uphold high standards of hygiene, safety, and sanitation throughout the kitchen environment
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery during busy periods
Experience
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Demonstrable skills in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
- Supervising or team management experience is advantageous but not essential; leadership qualities are valued
- Familiarity with food production processes and culinary techniques
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to food service operations
- Previous experience serving or working closely with front-of-house teams is beneficial
