Operations Manager
Overview
My client are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to oversee and optimise their construction and refurbishment projects within the food retail industry. As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team and ensuring the efficient planning, execution and delivery of construction and fit-out projects.
Responsibilities- Oversee the overall project management and execution of construction and refurbishment projects in the food retail sector
- Manage and coordinate multiple construction projects and ensure they are completed within budget and on schedule
- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency and effectiveness in the construction process
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, engineering, and procurement to drive successful project outcomes
- Monitor and maintain strict adherence to safety regulations and quality standards on all projects
- Build and manage relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to develop project plans and timelines
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure project milestones and quality standards are met
- Manage the allocation of resources and oversee budgeting and cost-control measures for each project
- Lead regular meetings with the operations team to communicate project updates, challenges, and successes
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies, implementing changes as needed
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, providing support and guidance to team members as they strive for operational excellence
- Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong background in construction, fit-out, or refurbishment projects within the food retail or related industry
- Demonstrated success in leading and managing operations teams, with a focus on driving performance and meeting project objectives
- In-depth knowledge of construction operations, project management methodologies, and industry best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders
- Strong decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and quality
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred
