Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled van driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving, with experience in delivery driving and warehouse operations. This role requires excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of mechanical systems, particularly for flatbed vehicles. The successful applicant will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and efficient deliveries while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.

Duties

  • Operate flatbed vehicles for the safe transportation of goods to various locations.
  • Ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage during transit.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules.
  • Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including inventory management and organisation of stock.
  • Demonstrate mechanical knowledge by performing minor repairs or maintenance on the vehicle when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Valid commercial driving licence with experience operating flatbed vehicles.
  • Previous experience as a delivery driver is essential, with a proven track record of safe driving practices.
  • Mechanical knowledge is highly desirable to assist with vehicle maintenance.
  • Experience working in a warehouse environment is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and clients.
