Finance Manager
Marine Procurement Ltd ('MPL') are recruiting a Finance Manager to lead the Finance function, and as a member of the senior management team, take a major role in leading the successful development of the company.
MPL are a member of the Edison Chouest Offshore ('ECO') Group of companies, who are recognised as one of the most diverse and dynamic marine transportation solution providers in the world. ECO operates a growing fleet of well over 200 vessels, ranging from tugs to specialised sub-sea construction vessels. The ability to design, build, own, and operate diverse, high-capacity and technologically superior vessels has made ECO an unrivalled leader in the maritime industry.
MPL undertakes major procurement projects in support of Group shipbuilding activities and provides through life support for ECO Operations through spare parts procurement and technical assistance.
The role:
As a key member of the senior management team, the Finance Manager will assume full responsibility for MPL's financial operations. This role will be responsible for leading all aspects of financial management and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Given the high-risk nature of the shipbuilding industry, the Finance Manager will be expected to develop and enforce robust financial procedures that uphold the company's standards. They will provide strategic financial insights to guide decision-making and improve efficiency across the organisation. In addition, the role involves close collaboration with ECO Group entities to ensure accurate and timely internal reporting. As a leader, the Finance Manager will manage and mentor the Finance team, cultivating a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise the finance team, delegate tasks effectively, and ensure smooth operations across all finance processes.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements for monthly accounts and year-end reporting, ensuring timely and insightful analysis.
- Audit & Compliance: Manage the internal audit program to ensure adherence to internal procedures. Lead external audit engagements, ensuring full compliance with financial and VAT regulations.
- Cash Flow & Working Capital: Monitor and manage cash flow and working capital. Maintain a strong financial relationship with the Parent Company to support liquidity and funding needs.
- Risk Management: Oversee financial compliance and internal controls. Identify potential financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Business Support: Lead the finance team in supporting Business Managers with performance insights, KPI tracking, and ensuring operational activities align with internal controls and strategic goals.
- Business Projects: Key member of project team for ERP reimplementation and other business projects, championing innovation through the integration of AI and emerging technologies
Key skills:
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Professional Accountant with a strong background in finance, compliance and controls. They will be a driven individual who takes pride in contributing to the success of the company and demonstrates an initiative-taking approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. Key skills include excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, strong planning and organisational capabilities while also demonstrating leadership and fostering a collaborative team culture.
