Our prestigious client situated in North Berwick is currently seeking a Cafe Manager. This role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the Cafe and team. This is a temporary role for a duration of 2-3 months (this could be extended for the right person and have the possibility of becoming permanent) Your Time at Work Main Duties and Responsibilities: Operations Management - Oversee day-to-day café operations, ensuring excellent customer service and a high-quality food and beverage offering. - Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships to minimise waste and maintain appropriate levels. - Monitor health, safety, and hygiene standards, ensuring full compliance with food safety regulations. - To ensure all areas of the premises are always kept clean and tidy. - Handle cash management, till reconciliation, and banking procedures. - Fill in for Cafe and Bookshop staff to cover holidays - Manage the donations, sorting and collections of books, in the absence of the bookshop manager - To minimise controllable costs and shrinkage at all times. - Stock management on Cybertill. - Liaising with other departments such as Fundraising, Finance and Facilities. - Liaising with Community Groups for use of the premises for events outside normal opening hours.
