We are looking for a VFX Editor to join our Film and Episodic Department.

Celebrating 23 years, Freefolk are a team of Emmy-winning creative artists, technicians, producers and problem solvers. Working closely with clients in the advertising, film, TV, and music industries, we provide a full-service VFX offering, including high-end colour grading, 2D and CG visual effects, shoot supervision, animation, design, direction, and concept development. Description

  • You will be responsible for the ingest, conform and distribution of material on a project
  • This role involves running client screenings, QC'ing, running dailies sessions, and creating company/job reels
  • As part of the role, you will also be responsible for exporting material to clients, from WIPs to final delivery
  • Provide in-depth knowledge of projects for artists and also relay information to production when issues arise
  • Maintain up-to-date timelines containing versions for review
  • Export cuts for client and internal use
  • Help manage and maintain the internal reference library of VFX elements
  • This role is client-facing and requires someone technically adept, calm and a good communicator

Essential Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as VFX Editor, or similar role
  • A solid understanding of video codecs and file formats
  • Well versed in non-linear editing softwares, with Hiero and Davinci Resolve preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of 2D and Colour pipelines
  • Detail oriented
  • Experience with a Linux system
  • UK/London based - must be able to work hybrid between home and our Spitalfields office.

Nice to Have Requirements

  • Familiarity with Nuke
  • Familiarity with CG files – Lidar etc
  • Vendor side VFX editing experience
  • Experience with Ftrack
  • Familiarity with FTP systems, Mediashuttle, Aspera etc.
