We're looking for a Transport Clerk (known internally as a Traffic Operator) to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working Monday to Friday from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., with occasional weekend shifts as needed.

The Role

As a Transport Clerk, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient coordination of transport operations at our Derby site, throughout the night.

Acting as the central point between customers, drivers, and internal teams, you'll manage delivery schedules, resolve issues quickly, and maintain a professional standard of service at all times.

You'll oversee customer delivery co-ordination and liaise with drivers to make sure schedules run on time and expectations are met.

Additionally, you will:

• Communicate any service issues internally and externally in a timely manner
• Recommend and support improvements to operational processes
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety procedures, including PPE requirements
• Report concerns or operational variances immediately to line management

About You

To be considered as a Transport Clerk, you will need:

• Experience in a transport environment
• Good working knowledge of Working Time Regulations and Drivers' hours
• The proven ability to interface with customers
• Good organisational skills and a detail-oriented approach
• The ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Proficiency in IT, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
