Harvey and Brockless, Evesham, WR11 1GR
Harvey and Brockless are producers and distributors of speciality foods, working with artisan food producers across the globe. At our site in Evesham, we develop our own bespoke sauces and dips.
Hours:
Monday – Friday, 9:00 -17:00
Salary:
Up to £37,000 DOE
Purpose:
To support risk assessments, approving, and maintaining specifications for raw materials and finished products. The role also involves ensuring that all current and new suppliers are assessed, approved, and monitored based on established criteria for food safety, quality, integrity, and legality.
Key Duties:
- Manage raw material specifications and risk assessments (including ingredients, packaging, and consumables), conducting reviews as needed.
- Ensure raw materials align with customer codes of practice and are fit for purpose, making challenges where necessary.
- Update raw material and finished product specifications
- Obtain necessary product-specific documentation from existing and potential suppliers
- Perform supplier risk assessments to ensure compliance with customer requirements and BRC standards.
- Assist the compliance team in maintaining supplier documentation to ensure compliance, due diligence, and audit readiness, in line with legislation and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with New Product Development and Procurement teams to assess new raw materials, offering feedback and posing challenges
- Perform incoming raw material checks to ensure they meet specifications.
- Address customer, supplier, and sales queries promptly and professionally.
- Carry out internal audits to ensure the quality management system is effective.
- Updating allergen and nutritional information into relevant system
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
- Previous Technical experience within food manufacturing.
- Experience of raw material specifications and associated quality standards.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and food safety systems.
- HACCP- Level 2 or higher
- Good IT skills including Microsoft office
