Atom is the UK's first app-based bank, and our Operations team is at the core of what we do. The Fraud and Financial Crime team serves as our first line of defence, safeguarding the bank against fraud and money laundering. As a Fraud & Financial Crime Investigator, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the bank's integrity and supporting our growth.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with prior experience in fraud or financial crime, particularly within a bank or building society. You'll be able to apply your expertise in a dynamic environment, handling investigations across our mortgages, savings, and business lending products.

What you'll be doing:

  • Conducting Investigations: You will investigate fraud and financial crime referrals from various systems across all of Atom's products.
  • Compliance & Reporting: You will perform PEP & Sanction reviews for new and existing customers and submit Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to the NCA when required.
  • Decision Making: You will make objective decisions, documenting a clear rationale for your findings and recommendations.
  • Collaboration: You'll work closely with other operational areas of the bank and your immediate team to manage multiple cases and tasks effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement: You'll proactively share knowledge, identify areas for improvement, and support process enhancements to create efficiencies
What do we need from you?
  • Previous experience in fraud or financial crime within a bank or building society
  • You should be self-motivated with great attention to detail and the ability to think on your feet.
  • You must be a clear communicator who can provide a documented rationale for decisions and recommendations.
  • Be able to thrive in a dynamic environment, managing your time effectively and working both independently and as part of a wider team.
