**Location: Southampton (Hybrid - 1 day from home)
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 17:00
About The Role
We are partnering with a
leading global yacht transport operator
to hire a
Charter Operations Coordinator**
to join their growing team. This role will sit within the charter operations function, supporting international yacht lift-on/lift-off movements, coordinating between owners, agents, and technical teams to deliver smooth and reliable yacht shipping services.
As Part Of This Role, You Will
- Act as a key contact for clients and internal stakeholders throughout the charter process - from quoting to loading, sailing, and discharge.
- Work closely with charter brokers, sales, port agents, and loadmaster teams to coordinate yacht movements.
- Manage and maintain detailed charter schedules, stowage plans, and booking documentation.
- Liaise with the engineering team ensuring correct cradle and lifting equipment are ready for each vessel.
- Oversee import/export clearance, customs agents, and local support partners.
- Monitor transport operations and proactively resolve issues to ensure on-time delivery, safety, and client satisfaction.
- Provide regular updates to clients about vessel status, loading, transit, and discharge.

- This is a specialist yacht transport company with over 40 years of experience in the industry.
- They operate a fleet of 110+ owned, purpose-built vessels, enabling them to guarantee global sailings and maintain full control over yacht handling.
- Their services include lift-on / lift-off transport, using certified cradles and lashing systems, with experienced Loadmasters overseeing loading and discharge.
- They offer world-class safety, reliability, and personal service - providing a single point of contact from enquiry through delivery.
Person Specification
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in charter operations, shipping, or freight forwarding.
- Knowledge of yacht transport or maritime cargo operations is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both with internal teams and high-net-worth clients.
- Ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Good IT literacy (MS Office, scheduling tools); experience with transport systems is a plus.
- Location: based in or around Southampton, with flexibility to work one day per week from home.
