The Willow Care Group Home provides residential care services for children and young people ages 11 to 18 who may encounter Behavioural, Emotional, Social, or Educational difficulties. Role Description

This is a full-time on-site position based in Derby for a Senior Residential Care Worker. Your role will include overseeing and supporting young people in their day-to-day lives, ensuring their safety, well-being, and personal development. Responsibilities involve creating individualized care plans, leading activities to promote life skills, and collaborating with team members to provide a consistent approach to care. You will serve as a role model and mentor while implementing policies and procedures that align with the home's mission and goals.

Qualifications

  • Experience in providing residential care services and supporting children or young people with Behavioural, Emotional, and Social difficulties.
  • Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with residents and team members.
  • Problem-solving abilities, leadership skills, and capacity to manage challenging situations constructively.
  • Understanding of relevant laws, policies, and safeguarding regulations related to caring for young people.
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare, social work, or related fields (e.g., NVQ Level 3 Residential Childcare or equivalent).
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and ability to contribute to the safe and inclusive environment of the home.
  • Experience working in a leadership or supervisory role in residential care settings is an advantage.
