Role Overview

MAC Asset Management Limited ("MACAM") is a London-based, FCA-regulated investment firm (FRN specializing in discretionary portfolio management.

We are seeking a middle office Intern to support the daily operational workflow for an 8-month fixed-term contract. The role offers hands-on experience in trade lifecycle management, with a focus on trade booking, settlement, and post-trade controls within an investment management environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely trade booking across all instruments.
  • Support the trade settlement process, confirm trade details with counterparties, match settlement instructions, monitor fails, and ensure timely settlement within the required deadline across custodians and brokers.
  • Identify and resolve trade breaks by liaising with counterparties and custodians.
  • Investigate and resolve settlement and confirmation discrepancies promptly.
  • Respond to counterparty and custodian enquiries related to settlement.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and contribute to daily reconciliation and control checks.
  • Assist with transaction reporting and other daily tasks.

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree (or currently studying) in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and ability to manage operational data.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Independent, self-starter able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle pressure, and manage tasks autonomously with initiative.
