Technology Transformation Director

We are currently partnered with a global leader organisation based in Central London, that runs a large international fleet and is recognised for its performance-driven culture, operational excellence and long-standing industry reputation. As part of the next phase of growth, the business is appointing a Technology Transformation Director to play a pivotal leadership role in reshaping how the organisation operates through technology, data and digital capability.

This is
not a CTO role - and is likely to be ideal for a Transformation Director with extensive experience across Technology, Digital, and Data Transformation.
They are looking for a strategic business leader who understands technology, not a technologist. This role exists to transform how value is created through digital, not to run the day to day of IT.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly into executive leadership, the Digital Technology Director will lead a high-calibre leadership team across
Data, Technology and Architecture
, acting as a true business partner to the organisation. You will work closely with the executive leadership team shaping and delivering the organisations digital strategy over the next 3–5 years, while ensuring that technology investments drive real commercial and operational impact.

You will be responsible for:

  • Driving enterprise-wide digital transformation into a modern, data-driven organisation.
  • Translating business strategy into a clear, executable digital roadmap.
  • Leading the adoption of cloud, SaaS and data platforms across a complex, asset-heavy environment.
  • Overseeing third-party IT service providers and strategic technology vendors.
  • Embedding a commercially minded, outcome-focused digital culture.
  • Ensuring cybersecurity, data governance and digital resilience across the estate.
  • Acting as a leading voice for change alongside an established transformation function.
  • Shaping long-term investment decisions with clear ROI and commercial accountability.

Digital initiatives will include AI adoption, satellite connectivity, data platforms and the modernisation of core operational systems.

They are looking for a commercially credible transformation leader who has:

  • Led enterprise-wide digital change in an asset-heavy or industrial environment (energy, infrastructure, logistics, manufacturing, transport, utilities, etc).
  • Operated as a strategic partner to the business, not simply the "owner of IT".
  • Built and executed business cases that translate technology into revenue, margin, efficiency or risk reduction.
  • Led senior teams through complexity, ambiguity and change.
  • A strong understanding of modern technology ecosystems (cloud, data, AI, architecture) without being a hands-on techy.
