Production Shift Manager Hop Processing

Location: BarthHaas UK Hours: Shift-based Department: Production

Join a growing team at the heart of the hop-processing industry. As Production Shift Manager, youll lead a skilled operations team to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality production helping to turn hops into exceptional products for customers worldwide.

What Youll Do

· Lead safely: Drive a proactive Health & Safety culture by challenging unsafe behaviours, completing audits and inspections, and ensuring all incidents are properly investigated and actions closed out.

· Develop people: Coach, mentor, and train operators, ensuring the team is skilled, flexible, and fully equipped to work safely and competently.

· Manage performance: Oversee all shift activities resource planning, production targets, quality checks, and accurate documentation keeping operations on plan and on spec.

· Keep it clean: Own the sites cleaning and hygiene standards, ensuring a food-grade environment and strong team ownership of housekeeping.

· Drive improvement: Lead shift GEMBA meetings, track KPIs, and champion continuous improvement to boost efficiency, yield, and process reliability.

· Take accountability: Lead CAPA investigations for production issues, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions that stick.

What Youll Bring

· Experience in a manufacturing or food-processing environment (hop or brewing experience a plus).

· Strong leadership and communication skills with a focus on safety and people development.

· Solid understanding of production processes, hygiene standards, and quality systems (FSSC 22000 or ISO 9001 desirable).

· A passion for improvement, teamwork, and delivering results.
