As a Senior Underwriter, you'll be part of a collaborative team that's focused on profitable growth and long-term broker partnerships. You'll underwrite Motor risks, applying sound judgment and strategic thinking to deliver tailored solutions that meet client needs and align with our appetite. We're looking for someone who's curious, collaborative, and confident in their underwriting expertise.

You'll make an impact by:
Your role would include interaction with our Legal Professions business appointed brokers, responding to their technical underwriting queries and involvement in annual renewal process negotiations. Additionally, there will be an element of non-Legal Professions business development and renewal work within the wider Profin team working with selected brokers to optimise profitable growth.

You will apply a range of underwriting, relationship building and business development techniques to help achieve this growth. This applies to new and/or existing cases within our agreed process and defined underwriting appetite.

You will spend most of your time working with Legal Professionals appointed brokers, responding to technical queries, identifying and working on risk strategies, discussing, negotiating and facilitating their renewals and making effective underwriting decisions.

The remainder of your time will be spent working with selected brokers identifying, discussing, negotiating and converting new and existing business opportunities and making effective underwriting decisions.

Within this role you will underwrite the following lines of business: Professional Indemnity.

Your skills and experience:
To be successful in your role of Senior Underwriter you will require experience in either Professional Indemnity insurance or have held previous roles in the legal profession.

This role may be suitable for someone currently working in the Scottish Legal Profession as a Solicitor, Paralegal and other legal support staff positions

You will be able to build working relationships with insurance brokers and write profitable business to ensure growth of the account.
