We're on the lookout for a proactive and detail-oriented
Underwriting Assistant
to support our experienced and high-performing Underwriting team based in Glasgow.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic and evolving area of the business. You'll play a key role in supporting our Underwriters with efficient administrative and operational assistance, helping to drive the success of our company business.

Your new role:

  • Assisting our Underwriters by providing information and support to allow them to negotiate rates, terms and conditions for new and existing business.
  • Building and developing strong relationships with your stakeholders, including Underwriters and other members of the wider team.
  • Being aware of the annual business plan and its context so that you can make decisions and prioritise appropriately.
  • Positively promote the department, division, and company to maximise brand leverage.
  • Adhere to underwriting standards, legal requirements and good practice to minimise risk and maximise efficiency.
  • Keep abreast of market trends and demonstrate market cycle awareness.

About you:

  • Previous experience in an administrative role in a corporate environment, ideally insurance or financial services
  • A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills; a true team player.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy in everything you do.
  • A proactive attitude and a genuine desire to grow and develop in your role. If you're eager to learn, we'll support you every step of the way.
