We are looking for a Technical Sales Person / Business Development Manager with experience in account management. The candidate will form an integral part of the sales team undertaking the sales function of creating new enquiries and delivering them into orders.
The position consists of account quotations, estimates and supplier meetings to establish materials fit for purpose. Experience in capital equipment sales would be preferred. The candidate will need to be self-motivated as well as working well with the sales and engineering team. A technical background would benefit this role, so experience in engineering would be preferred. The successful candidate will start the sales process from generating the enquiry, through to working with the engineering team to provide a concept and bespoke quotation. Attention to detail is critical to this role. The proposal will then require presenting and closing. Working with engineering teams, project managers and purchasing teams will be required so strong negotiation skills are paramount.
You should have: -
· Proven sales experience selling bespoke production systems, capital equipment or similar
· Proactive approach to sourcing prospective clients and enquiries
· Ability to understand and interpret client's processes
· Ability to discuss process and potential solutions with clients
· Ability to present internally client's requirements
· Good written and communication skills
· Good administration and prioritising skills
· Good reporting skills
· Good interpersonal and presentation skills to allow the candidate to talk and present at all level from shop floor to board members
· A technical / engineering background is preferred as systems are all bespoke
· Ability to work on their own and as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team.
· A proactive approach to identifying and progressing enquiries
· An ability to investigate market conditions and competitor analysis through building close customer relationships.
· Development of customer accounts to ensure that QM Systems are considered for all projects within our skill set in each account.
· A 'can-do' attitude and focus on meeting all deadlines.
· An ability to work on multiple jobs concurrently.
· A consistent demonstration of determination and enthusiasm.
· Flexible and keen to learn new skills.
· Good written and oral communication skills
· Enthusiastic, self-motivated, committed and results orientated.
· Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
· Strong attention to detail skills.
List of significant activities:-
· Sourcing prospective clients and enquiries
· Extracting & interpreting customer requirements
· Co-ordinating the sales and pricing processes and staying within the guidelines.
· Working with suppliers to understand new technologies.
· Preparing initial cost sheet for quotation. (To be approved).
· Sketching initial concepts – hand sketch to explain customer process
· Preparing quotations
· Assisting with building partnership relationships
· Work on occasions outside normal hours.
· Contributing to external & internal design reviews
· Upselling items such as spares and service contracts.
· Preparing various reports to support the Sales Manager
· Submitting on time sales updates (Monthly report, Weekly pipelines).
· Assisting the Sales department with various sales and marketing functions.

• Sales experience
• The drive to succeed with good initiative.

Location:
- This is a hybrid role split between customer visits, Directech QM offices in Droitwich and working from home.
