Northease Manor School is seeking a reliable and proactive caretaker to join our site team. You will play a vital role in maintaining the safety and functionality of our school environment. You will be responsible for ensuring that our facilities are well-maintained and conducive to the learning and development of our students. This role requires a proactive, diligent individual who is committed to creating a positive and safe educational environment for all students.

Main Core responsibilities
Caretaking Duties:
· As a member of Northease Manor School staff you are expected to perform any duties as may reasonably be assigned to you by the Site Manager or a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
· Work within the site team to collectively ensure that the school premises are safe, secure, and well-maintained at all times.
· Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on buildings and facilities including doors, windows, furniture, basic plumbing, carpentry and electrics, painting of walls and woodwork and other decorating work as directed.
· Respond within appropriate timescales to repairs and maintenance issues as noted in the Maintenance Book.
· Meet contractors carrying out repairs and PPMs – accompany them during school term time to ensure compliance to safeguarding policy.
· Carry out H&S and maintenance checks to site including: legionella, fire alarm and equipment, swimming pool, school vehicles, asbestos, etc.
· Support the site manager's minor works programme to keep building and estate to a high standard.
· Ensure opening and closing procedures are carried out including locking and unlocking the premises and monitoring the security systems.
· Set up rooms or large areas such as the Tudor Hall for various activities, events and changes to normal school operations, including movement of furniture when necessary.
· Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues and emergencies – escalating where necessary to the appropriate levels of management.
· Scan and upload PPM reports, updating the PPM spreadsheet, and filing records on SharePoint.
· Use our online H&S platform to update the completion status of tasks and compliance checks.
· To uphold the School's policies for anti-discriminatory practice and equality of opportunity. Develop and nurture positive relationships with staff, students and the School's extended community.
· Be flexible and accommodating to meet the changing needs of the School.
· To have due regard for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and to follow the child protection procedures adopted by the Northease Manor School's Safeguarding policy.

Pay: £25,000.00-£25,194.00 per year
