Facilities and Contracts Manager

Littlehampton Town Council is looking for an exceptional candidate to fulfil the extensive role of Facilities and Contracts Manager.
The post holder will be in a varied and fast paced environment and will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of the Council's assets and related contracts, overseeing the facilities team whilst ensuring full compliance with health and safety regulations and statutory requirements..
This involves some of the following:
· Managing and maintaining the Council's buildings, allotments, parks, open spaces and associated amenities.
· Leading and developing a team of facilities staff including amenity officers, caretakers and maintenance personnel.
· Ensuring compliance with all health and safety legislation, conducting regular inspections and risk assessments.
· Overseeing building systems maintenance (fire alarms, emergency lighting, lifts, HVAC, security)
· Managing procurement, contracts and relationships with contractors and service providers.
· Acting as emergency callout contact and key holder (including evenings and weekends)
· Budget monitoring and project management for asset development.
· Managing insurance matters and landlord/tenant relations.
Exceptional communication, organisational and ICT skills are vital to ensure the role is undertaken effectively. The successful applicant will need excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations, asset management experience, strong contract management skills, and the ability to lead a team effectively. They must be able to work on their own initiative as well as being committed to team working.
