About the Role
To be the change lead for the Transformation Programme ensuring that benefits are delivered in line with plan, and the changes are embedded and sustainable in the business for the long term growth and efficiency of the business.
This is a Group role, requiring strong leadership, matrix management and collaboration across multiple functions, both in UK and Ireland.
Scope of accountability
As the Change Lead, you will be responsible for leadership engagement, business readiness and adoption, communications and engagement and learning and enablement across the scope of the Transformation changes.
You will be expected to act as the gatekeeper for all transformation related change, ensuring that the business is able to consume the planned change, reporting any issues or risks to the programme for timely and appropriate decision-making. Accountability for technical delivery sits with IT but will require strong collaboration and team working to deliver the optimum solution for both the business and IT change.
Areas of responsibility:
Leadership Engagement:
- To ensure the Vision and Case for Change for Transformation is clearly understood and role modelled within the Group's leadership team
- Ensuring that the Group's leadership team understand 'what the changes means to them' and what is expected of them in leading their teams through the transformation journey
- Define the change approach to ensure successful implementation of the change agenda, identifying the right SMEs, super users and change champions, who will support the Change Lead in rolling out the changes
Business Readiness & Adoption:
- Undertake change impact assessments to identify the changes by role, function, site across UK and Ireland whether they are system, process, people, location or data changes that need to be executed
- Build the most cost effective change plan that addresses the changes identified. This could be in the form of training, communications, workshops, digital learning etc
- Lead and co-ordinate the implementation of the business readiness plan across all impacted areas, focussed on the highest priority areas of the business by assessing risk/impact/volume etc
- Assess the Group's business readiness against the change plan as part of the overall programme governance to ensure that go live decisions are business led. This will require formal business readiness reporting via the relevant Steering Groups
- Ensure that relevant KPIs and measurements are baselined ahead of the change so that clear measures of success can be tracked in the lead up to and post implementation. These KPIs will be a key driver of the benefits realisation plan
- Own and manage the benefits realisation plan post go live, feeding into the overall programme governance plan, ensuring that the approved business case is being met
Communications & Engagement:
- Develop a stakeholder map and plan, identifying those roles and groups impacted by the changes and those individuals, roles and groups that will influence the changes, and build a communications and engagement plan to ensure the changes are adopted, led and effectively supported
- Working with the comms specialists in the business, create and develop timely and appropriate communication plans across the Group, using the most appropriate channels
Learning & Enablement:
- Lead the development of any training material required to support the implementation and ongoing embedding of the changes
- Ensure that all training needs analysis is carried out in a timely manner in readiness to support the changes
- Identify and execute training via the most appropriate channel and medium for the change being communicated
Develop Best Practice:
- Build best practice and standard tooling to manage change that can be more widely adopted across the business for future change programmes
- Support and coach change teams across the business, on a matrix basis, ensuring they have the right tools, templates and artefacts available to lead the change successfully
Experience and Skills Required:
- Minimum 5 years' experience of leading and managing change in an operational or project environment
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Expertise in change management methodologies (desired)
