Located in the heart of Shoreditch, Delamina EAST celebrates Eastern Mediterranean and Israeli cuisine — a vibrant blend of flavours, colours, and creativity. Our menu is health-conscious with an extensive vegetarian and vegan offering, complemented by trendy cocktails and a welcoming, family-style atmosphere.
We have a small, stable kitchen team of 10 chefs, all passionate about fresh produce, bold flavours, and delivering exceptional dishes.
The Role – Junior Sous Chef
We are looking for a talented Junior Sous Chef with the drive and ambition to grow into a Sous Chef position and become 2nd in charge of the kitchen. This is an incredible opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their career in a supportive, creative, and professional environment.
As a Junior Sous Chef, you'll work closely with our Head Chef, assisting with daily operations and ensuring consistency across all dishes. You'll help lead shifts, support junior chefs, and play a key role in maintaining our high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in daily operations as a proactive Junior Sous Chef.
- Oversee prep and service, ensuring smooth communication across all sections.
- Handle ordering, stock control, and supplier relationships.
- Maintain HACCP, health & safety, and hygiene standards.
- Train and mentor junior team members.
- Contribute ideas for menu development and seasonal specials.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Junior Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready to step up.
- Basic kitchen management experience (ordering, suppliers, HACCP).
- Fluent English is a must; Spanish, Italian, or Portuguese is a plus.
- Reliable, professional, and team-oriented — no egos, just passion and respect.
- A love for fresh, vibrant Eastern Mediterranean cuisine.
