Job Description
Cosworth are seeking a Production Planner to join our team, responsible for managing our manufacturing requirements through effective scheduling and coordination of material supply. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring production plans align with customer demand, inventory targets, and resource availability.

The Role

  • Develop, issue, and maintain weekly and monthly production schedules to meet demand and inventory targets.
  • Maintain accurate production data in SAP.
  • Propose recovery plans in response to changes in demand, material availability or equipment breakdowns.
  • Balance workload across resources and shifts to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with our Purchasing department and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of BOM items.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to share requirement deadlines and forecast.
  • Manage supply of raw material and subcontract services.
  • Create purchase and production orders.
  • Maintain strong relationship with stakeholders (internal departments, suppliers and subcontractors)
  • Maintain long term resource utilization forecast based on multi-year production plan and NPI forecast.
  • Participate in daily production planning reviews.
  • Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
  • Support the Company's compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice.

Candidate Profile

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and capacity planning.
  • Experience of using ERP systems in a planning role (preferably SAP S/4 Hanna).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Clear communication and interpersonal skills across departments.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Motivated to progress into a managerial role.
