Commercial Administrator

Nicor are currently seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Administrator / Junior QS to support the commercial management of our social housing maintenance contracts. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately applying Schedule of Rates codes from the M3NHF (Measured Term Contracts - National Housing Federation) to completed works, ensuring proper cost capture and allowing accurate and timely invoicing. Training will be provided on an ongoing basis.
Key Responsibilities
- reviewing completed works orders and maintenance jobs,
- ensuring all relevant documentation is present
- identifying the appropriate M3NHF Schedule of Rates codes for all works completed
- ensure accurate coding application for payment purposes
- working closely with operatives, supervisors, and the commercial team to verify works descriptions match the activities carried out on site.
- Identify any variations or additional works that fall outside the standard order ensuring policies followed to allow and documents available on the system to support the codes claimed.
Essential Requirements
Candidates should have a good understanding of construction and building maintenance activities, with social housing experience an advantage. Applicants should have the ability to read and interpret technical notes and specifications. Strong numerical skills and high attention to detail are essential, as is proficiency in Excel and general IT systems.
Previous experience working with Schedule of Rates, ideally M3NHF or similar housing maintenance schedules (such as M3NHF, Property Services or SOR), would be advantageous. Understanding of basic quantity surveying principles and commercial awareness within construction or maintenance environments is desirable.
Excellent communication skills are required to liaise effectively with operational teams and commercial colleagues. The successful candidate will be organised, able to manage multiple priorities, and committed to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience & Qualifications
Relevant construction, surveying, or business qualification
3 Years Experience in Similar Role
Experience of MTC Contracts / Schedule of Rates (NEC, PSA etc.)
Experience working in a fast paced / multi discipline environment
Skills / Competencies
Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage client relationships
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Ability to work well under pressure and to strict deadlines
Enthusiastic and result driven with excellent attention to detail
IT literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
