We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated carer to join our growing agency team on a flexible basis, working as an integral part of the home team and in line with our values. You will play a vital role in assisting residents with daily activities, providing personal care, and ensuring their safety and well-being, based on a good understanding of the individual needs and preferences of our residents.

About Each Other Care Agency & Each Other Care

We are an agency employing team members on flexible contracts in a range of care, kitchen, domestic and leadership roles. We are part of Each Other Care, which is a family-owned care home group offering a range of elderly and younger adult nursing and dementia care. As an agency we support the home teams by being able to offer familiar, highly trained colleagues available at short notice if required.

We support our England homes in Lancashire, South Yorkshire, Essex, and Scotland homes in Cumbernauld and Forfar.

  • Weekly payroll: You have the option to be paid weekly or monthly in arrears, to suit your personal preferences

  • Access to shifts real-time: You will be part of our internal rota planning system (Connecteam) which means you can claim shifts and update your availability real time, at your convenience.
  • Dedicated line management: You will be assigned a primary home, where you are likely to work most of your shifts. The home manager will work closely with your line manager, Jack who is our agency consultant, providing specific feedback and guidance to ensure you settle well in the home and for ongoing support.
  • Guidance and development: You will benefit from quarterly guidance and development conversations with our agency lead, to support your personal and professional development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Care delivery.

  • Personal Care: assisting residents with daily personal hygiene, including washing, dressing, and toileting, support mobility and transfers, including the use of mobility aids and hoists and assisting with continence care and ensure residents always maintain dignity.
  • Health and wellbeing: Observe and report any changes in residents' physical and emotional health and escalate concerns appropriately and -
  • Nutrition and hydration: Support residents with eating and drinking, ensuring dietary needs are met, encouraging hydration and monitor food intake, assist in preparing light meals or snacks when required.
  • Emotional & Social and wellbeing support: Investing time in getting to know the individual residents, providing companionship and engage in conversations to promote well-being, encourage residents to participate in social activities, hobbies and inspiring residents to set goals for themselves
  • Environmental & Housekeeping support including ensuring residents' rooms and communal areas are clean, tidy, and comfortable, assisting with laundry and light housekeeping duties if needed and following infection control procedures and health and safety guidelines.

Teamwork and contributing to safe running of the home.

  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other carers, nurses, and managers to provide the highest standard of care
  • Communication & Documentation: Proactively communicate with other members of the care team in line with our values and maintain accurate records of all aspects of care provided. Promptly report concerns about residents' health or safety to senior staff. Provide support to family members and external healthcare professionals as needed ensuring all actions align with our values in line with our values.
  • Safeguarding & Compliance: Ensure all care is delivered in line with safeguarding policies and procedures, treating residents with dignity, respect, and choice at all times and adhere to all care home policies, regulations, and professional standards.
  • Teamwork & Professional Development: Attend training required for the role and maintain confidentiality and uphold professional care standards.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE

Experience & knowledge

  • Previous experience in a care home or healthcare setting of a minimum of 1 year.
  • Ability to follow care plans and maintain accurate records of care provided.
  • Comfortable working with technology and willing to learn to use platforms used such as Person-Centred Software.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with regulatory requirements for quality and safety, meet CQC standards and a commitment to maintaining high standards of care and professionalism.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
  • Willingness to undergo training and professional development and maintain training compliance in line with home compliance requirement.

  • A current clear DBS and a willingness to undertake a new one for this role.

Pay: £12.25 per hour
