Oracle Product Developer – 2 Roles Available | 9455 | 1 x Permanent Contract / 1 x Fixed Term Contract for One Year | 37 hours per week | £43,822 - £48,227 per annum | Scale K | Norwich

Position 1: Oracle Product Developer HCM, Permanent 

Position 2: Oracle Product Developer Payroll, 1 year fixed term contract

We are looking for two experienced UK based HCM and Payroll Functional Product Developers to join Norfolk County Council, focusing on the maintenance of and development of the Oracle HCM and payroll systems.

We know your time is important; in exchange for your expertise, we will offer 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays extending with length of service, flexible working with core hours but fitting around your family and life needs and remote working. 

Working with the direction of the Product Owner, alongside another HCM developer or Payroll developers and 3rd party support developers, you will work from a stakeholder approved HCM backlog to design, develop, test and implement new features, ensuring that user needs are met, and the impacts of changes are appropriately assessed. 

Norfolk County Council has a broad self-service implementation following the "adopt not adapt" principle supporting up to 24K employees with multiple legal entities and payrolls that also encompasses Oracle ERP and EPM cloud applications. We have a support arrangement with a 3rd party company for items that we need to escalate or seek second opinions on. 

To be considered for the role, you'll need a proven track record of experience in a HCM/Payroll developer role, ideally in a large and complex organisation. You'll need:

  • Experience of developing within Oracle Fusion, specifically within HCM/Payroll modules.
  • Exposure or understanding of Redwood is desirable. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to develop solutions that make best use of the technology and resources available.
  • The ability to provide innovative, creative and practical solutions, whilst delivering value.
  • Collaborative working with internal and 3rd party support developers.
