The Post:

The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role as part of NHS Scotland. NHS National Services Scotland's mission is to enable and support the delivery of better care working in partnership. We do this by providing a range of specialized support services that enable NHS boards to focus their efforts on delivering health improvement and patient care. Suitable applicants are invited to join a hard-working team in a well-equipped Blood Bank Laboratory which operates 24/7.

The Candidate:

We are currently looking for a reliable person to join our clinical laboratory team. You will be trained to carry out a range of general duties to provide vital support for the Biomedical Scientist staff in our busy Clinical Laboratories. The successful candidate should have a flexible approach to work. Previous laboratory experience is not essential as full training will be provided. Excellent data inputting skills are required, and applicants must hold a full UK driving licence as you are required to drive between external sites to deliver or pick up blood components.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.

Location and Working Pattern:

Inverness Blood Transfusion Centre, Raigmore Hospital

Monday to Friday (9.00am – 5.00pm), 37 hours per week.

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
