Work for Orbit. Believe in people.

The role

Orbit is delighted to be recruiting for a Capability Coordinator to join our growing Learning & Development team in this newly created opportunity. At Orbit, we are passionate about supporting every colleague to develop the skills and capabilities they need to deliver excellent outcomes for our customers and communities.

The Capability Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of Orbit's Professional Development Framework (PDF) and wider capability agenda. This role ensures that capability data is effectively captured, maintained, and reported, enabling evidence-based decisions on learning, performance, and progression.

This role is part of People and Strategy where you'll help us to build a culture and brand that people want to be part of.

Interviews

Interviews will take place via Teams on the 11th and 12th of December and this will be a one stage interview process, with a small task to complete prior to the interview.

What you'll achieve

  • Coordinate and administer all activities linked to Orbit's Professional Development Framework (PDF) and capability assessments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of capability assessments, development plans, and professional registrations.
  • Support the design and implementation of tools, templates, and processes that underpin capability management.
  • Produce and maintain regular reporting dashboards and metrics for the Head of Learning & Talent Development, including capability completion rates, professional development tracking, and trends.
  • Coordinate communication and updates across business areas to promote engagement with the PDF and professional development opportunities.
  • Provide administrative support for professional development initiatives such as CIH qualifications, technical accreditation pathways, and capability review cycles.
  • Support the organisation of workshops, briefings, and learning events linked to capability and professionalisation.
  • Act as a first point of contact for queries relating to capability data, professional development frameworks, and associated systems.

What you'll bring

Essential skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Confident in handling and interpreting data, including using Excel or reporting tools to produce insights.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify and suggest process improvements.
  • Experience working with digital systems or data management tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Ability to be resilient and manage multiple stakeholders' requests

Desirable skills

  • Experience in a learning, HR, or capability development environment.
  • Understanding of professional frameworks, qualifications, or regulated competence schemes (e.g., CIH, Building Safety).
