We are a therapeutic residential care organisation providing safe, nurturing homes where children and young people can heal, grow, and reach their potential. With two Ofsted-rated "Good" homes and a third opening soon, we are expanding our dedicated team in Burton-on-Trent.

Our practice is firmly rooted in therapeutic, trauma-informed approaches, supporting both children and staff within a stable, understanding, and compassionate environment.

The Role

As a Therapeutic Children's Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting children with complex emotional and behavioural needs. Using trauma-informed approaches — including the PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) — you will provide consistent, compassionate care that promotes emotional regulation, resilience, and positive development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver consistent, high-quality care within a therapeutic residential setting
  • Use trauma-informed approaches to support emotional wellbeing and recovery
  • Help children build confidence, resilience, and healthy coping strategies
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of personalised care plans
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to maintain a safe and nurturing home
  • Model empathy, consistency, and positive behaviour

About You

  • Minimum 1 year's experience in residential childcare (preferred)
  • Understanding of therapeutic or trauma-informed care (PACE experience beneficial)
  • Compassionate, patient, and emotionally resilient
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Flexible to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Committed to ongoing training and professional development
