London, Greater London, United Kingdom Women in Tech Full time £60,000 - £80,000 per year

Position Description

At CGI, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping next-generation container platforms that power mission-critical solutions across our Space, Defence and Intelligence programmes. As an OpenShift Engineer, you'll design and operate secure, scalable infrastructure that accelerates delivery for teams transforming how our clients protect and safeguard the UK. You'll work in a collaborative engineering community where you can take ownership of container platforms, apply creative thinking to automation and cloud-native delivery, and grow your expertise with the support of experienced colleagues. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while expanding your skills across OpenShift, OpenStack and modern platform engineering.

CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK 'Best Employer' by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee. We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you'll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We'll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.

Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance.

Your future duties and responsibilities

In this role, you will design, deploy and manage secure, high-performing OpenShift environments that underpin critical systems. You'll take ownership of cluster operations, performance, and lifecycle management, while applying creative engineering approaches to enhance automation and platform resilience. Working closely with DevOps, architecture and development teams, you will help evolve container platforms that support mission-driven applications across Space, Defence and Intelligence programmes.

You'll contribute to automation, disaster recovery, container orchestration and infrastructure-as-code practices that streamline delivery. You will be supported by a collaborative engineering community while having the autonomy to drive improvements and shape the future of platform capability.

Collaborate & Integrate: Work with DevOps teams to evolve CI/CD and IaC workflows.
