This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior or Principal Software Engineer - Red Hat OpenShift in EMEA.

This role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud-native technologies and open source platforms, contributing to the evolution of enterprise container and Kubernetes solutions. The Senior or Principal Software Engineer will design, develop, and implement advanced features for a highly scalable and secure Red Hat OpenShift environment. You will collaborate closely with global engineering teams, product management, and community contributors to ensure that the software meets the needs of a rapidly growing customer base. The role combines hands-on development, technical leadership, and active participation in the open-source ecosystem. It is ideal for engineers who thrive in a collaborative, innovative, and customer-focused environment. This position allows you to directly impact enterprise solutions and contribute to the broader Kubernetes and OpenShift communities.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of new features in Red Hat OpenShift and related container solutions.
  • Participate actively in open source communities like Kubernetes, OKD, and Red Hat OpenShift to influence and adopt upstream improvements.
  • Provide technical leadership as an architect or senior contributor, ensuring performance, resilience, scalability, and security in design and implementation.
  • Collaborate with team leads, architects, and product management to define architecture and solution designs.
  • Maintain software quality through peer code reviews, continuous integration, and proactive management of security vulnerabilities.
  • Design and implement advanced computing, networking, and security solutions for cloud environments, with a focus on AWS integration.
  • Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, improve quality, and streamline development cycles.
Requirements
  • Expertise in Go (Golang) and strong experience in cloud-native development principles.
  • Proven experience with containers, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, and cloud provider integrations (AWS preferred, Azure or Google Cloud a plus).
  • Deep knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, VPC, Load Balancers, IAM, and CloudFormation.
  • Experience as a technical lead or architect, capable of managing complex trade-offs and driving scalable solutions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Familiarity with upstream, midstream, and downstream contributions in Kubernetes and OpenShift.
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Python or Bash is a plus.
  • Experience working with customers and partners to guide technical adoption is advantageous.
