About the Role
- Delivery of services in Scheduling, Cost, Risk and Earned Value Management (EVM) ensuring that the programme is fully compliant with the Programme Performance Management Process (PPMP-01)
- Supports the operational aspects of ongoing projects/serves as liaison between programme management, project team and line management
- Maintenance of Performance Measurement Baselines, ensuring fully integrated Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Statement of Work (SOW), Schedule, Earned Value and Risk baselines
- Maintain Integrated Master Plan and Schedule to plan activities, dependencies, deliverables and milestones. The IMS will coherently merge the individual work package schedules and shall be suitable for planning, prioritising and monitoring the team's workload
- Support the establishment of Performance Management Baselines and subsequently controlled by disciplined Budgeting and amendment principles, practices and processes.
- Co-ordinate Internal Programme Review (IPR) meetings, ensure actions are closed in a timely manner.
- Generate weekly and monthly reports, ensuring variances are identified, subsequently reviewed and corrected
- Undertake labour utilisation analysis for both LM/contractor staff monthly
- Support the generation and presentation of Comprehensive Estimate at Completion events
- Support Work Package Managers with the establishment of Earned Value (EV) plans and appropriate use of EV techniques, together with analysis of their work packages in terms of performance / variance to plan
- Provide support to the Programme Control Lead in developing a Control Account Manager (CAM) environment, interfacing with respective CAMs and PFC.
- Provide supporting data for programme reviews covering Schedule, Risk and EVM and provide timely reports, measurements and performance assessments
- Assist Programme Control Lead with delivering a risk management service for Programme risks identification, assessment, mitigation planning, mitigation action tracking and reporting of risks and opportunities status.
- Ensure that risk mitigation activities are embedded in the cost and schedule baseline and that risk impacts and fall back plans are properly assessed for the establishment of Management Reserve & schedule margin.
- Collate/ issue monthly estimated actuals for all programmes.
- Update workload roll up tool on monthly basis.
- Raise /issue Programme Office Directives & track/chase POD actions.
- Maintain programme distribution lists.
- Provide expert usage of LM tools: Procure to Pay, Windchill, Business Management System (BMS) and their associated processes.
- Maintain and update Contractor Invoice spreadsheets
- Raise Purchase Requisitions (PR's) and Material Masters via P2P, ensuring that Purchase Orders (PO's) have correct Work Packages applied
- Maintain records of PO coverage (time and value) and ensure timely renewals as applicable for expiring PO's.
- Perform first approvals on invoices;
- Responsible for training new starters on the processes and usage of the P2P.
- As directed by the Programme Office Manager provide to other areas of the business the following;
- Skilled Risk & Opportunity Management support
Required skills, qualifications and experience
- We're looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and eager to learn about project controls in a technical or engineering environment.
- Some experience in project planning, scheduling, or coordination (could be from coursework, internships, or previous roles)
- Familiarity with project management or planning software (experience with tools like Open Plan or Primavera P6 would be a bonus)
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, and reporting tools
- A willingness to learn about cost control, scheduling, risk management, and advanced Earned Value principles
- Relevant qualification or working towards one (e.g., degree, apprenticeship, or certificate in project management, engineering, or related field
