We are seeking a Communications Manager to join our Corporate Communications team. Working across the internal and external communication, this role requires a proactive, energetic communicator with an understanding of audiences and multichannel content development and delivery who is comfortable in a busy and fast-moving environment. You'll work cross-functionally with teams across the business to ensure consistent, timely, and effective communications.
Direct responsibilities:
- Identify and develop stories that resonate with key stakeholders and audiences and tell the Arriva story.
- Execute communications across corporate channels, including the intranet, internal newsletters, executive communications, email platforms, corporate social media, events, town halls, external website and media engagement.
- Support co-ordination of communications activity working with communications teams across the Group, gathering information and managing a content planner.
- Create high-quality written, visual, and multimedia content that reflects the company's values, priorities, and voice.
- Partner with internal departments to create content for internal and external campaigns.
- Help ensure the smooth running of the team by supporting with the management of external agencies, the photo gallery and video library, the content calendar and other essential functions.
- Participate in the press office on-call rota and development of daily news summaries.
Knowledge, skills & experience:
- At least 2-3 years' experience in communications either in-house or in an agency
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills
- Good judgement and news sense
- An understanding of reputation management principles.
- Understanding interest in internal communications tools (e.g., SharePoint, Staffbase, Viva Engage, Canva), video production and editing skills and an interest in emerging technologies
- Project management and prioritisation skills; ability to manage multiple stakeholders and meet tight deadlines.
- Highly collaborative team player.
- Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude
- Experience of working in a fast-moving business
