Background and Context

The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) at the University of Hull is seeking a Lecturer in Physiotherapy to join an experienced team to teach on the BSc Physiotherapy course. You will be joining a supportive team of five lecturers on the BSc Physiotherapy programme, and SERS (School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences) is a thriving academic community within the Faculty. The SERS team consists of around 30 academic staff teach over 400 students, including postgraduates studying MSc by Research, or PhDs. The availability of state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, supported by dedicated technical staff provides an outstanding educational experience for students and excellent opportunities to engage in high-quality research and knowledge exchange. The School currently has five undergraduate programmes, including the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy programme. The successful candidate will take an essential role in continuing the high-quality teaching, education, and scholarly activity related to the BSc Physiotherapy course, with support from colleagues across the Faculty.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities of the post

This is a teaching and scholarship post, with responsibility for teaching, project supervision and assessment of first-, second-, and third-year undergraduate physiotherapy students. The post holder will contribute to curriculum development as required, including research and clinical modules, supervision of students on practice placements, and support other academic administrative duties such as personal supervision, coordinating practice placements, and supporting and contributing to student recruitment.

  • Teaching and giving individual feedback to students undertaking modules
  • Organising, evaluating and marking of written work
  • Liaise with colleagues who lecture to the undergraduates
  • Programme administrative work
  • Support or act as academic placement lead/academic admissions lead
  • Research project supervision (UG and PG level)
  • Any other duties commensurate with the grade as appropriate
