About the role

Join Our Team as a Personal Advisor - Supporting Young People Towards Independence

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people aged 16–25 who are currently in or have left the care of the Local Authority.

As a Personal Advisor within the Leaving Care Team, you'll play a vital role in helping young people navigate their journey to independence.

What will you be doing?

As a Personal Advisor, you will:

  • Be allocated to individual young people and help assess and develop their Pathway Plans, which outline aspirations in education, housing, health, relationships, and more.
  • Provide personalised support to all care leavers, to include a focus on the distinct needs of separated young people and the potential impact of their immigration status.
  • Work collaboratively with the Practice Manager, Team Manager, colleagues and partner agencies to enhance service delivery and outcomes for our young people.
  • Represent the Leaving Care Service at participation events, Care Council meetings, and contribute to a vibrant programme of skills-based activities for young people.
  • Work within a duty rota system to ensure consistent support across the service to our young people.

We welcome the opportunity to speak to any interested candidates so please feel free to email: and they can agree a mutually agreeable time to call you
