We're looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to plan, monitor, and carry out maintenance and repairs on company equipment, machinery, and buildings. You'll ensure compliance with all legislative and health & safety requirements, supporting the safe and efficient operation of our business.

You'll manage preventative maintenance schedules, troubleshoot breakdowns, and maintain building systems. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and maintain the Site Preventative Maintenance Programme.
  • Carry out statutory inspections and liaise with insurers and contractors.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and condition monitoring checks.
  • Minimise downtime by responding quickly to breakdowns and repairs.
  • Complete production documentation and handover processes.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure all work complies with H&S legislation and company policy.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electro/mechanical packaging machinery.
  • Maintain building systems and ripening rooms.
  • Train production employees on machinery best practice.
  • Maintain an asset register and oversee contractor work.

What We're Looking For

  • City & Guilds qualification or equivalent in a mechanical subject.
  • 17th Edition electrical qualification.
  • Formal Health & Safety training certificate.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Proven experience in maintenance of machinery, equipment, and buildings.
  • Knowledge of risk assessments, audits, and safe systems of work.
  • Understanding of COSHH, F-Gas, and CDM regulations.
  • Ability to work at height and in confined spaces.
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
