Our client, a Uk wide fresh produce provider who cover, warehousing, quality assurance and more, is currently looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

The role will be based in Sittingbourne, and you will plan, check, monitor and carry out maintenance work and repair of all Company equipment, machinery, and buildings.

You will ensure conformance to all legislative requirements, codes of practice, best practices and Health and Safety requirements for the safe, and efficient operation of the business, including machinery, buildings and services.

**Responsibilities for the role of Maintenance Engineer**
- When arriving for an early Shift check that Maintenance area security has been maintained.
- Undergo any training organised by the Maintenance Manager.
- Ensure that Maintenance schedules are carried out in a Safe manner especially within the Production area by not leaving tools, chemicals, or swarf that may compromise HACCP principles and food safety.
- Ensure all Maintenance duties are carried out with company Health and Safety policy aspects fully considered.
- Ensure that you keep all workshops, cupboards and work areas clean and tidy and that all chemical cupboards are kept locked at all times.
- Ensure that all completed work has been carried out to an acceptable standard.
- Ensure all daily, weekly and monthly maintenance schedules for equipment, vehicles and building infrastructure are completed correctly and promptly. If any issues arise ensure that they are communicated to the Maintenance Manager immediately.
- Ensure that Maintenance hand-back procedures are completed correctly.
- Ensure that all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn in all areas to conform with company policies that affect HACCP and food safety.

**Person Specification**:

- Full driving licence
- Experience in carrying out repairs and maintenance on machinery, equipment and buildings.
- Working to safe systems and recognise hazards and dangerous practices including undertaking risk assessments and audits.
- Understanding and experience in quality and HSE systems
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Understanding and ability to use and maintain basic power tools.
- Sound understanding of COSHH regulations, F gas qualification and CDM regulations.
- Ability to lift heavy objects when required.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to work at a height.
